You are cordially invited to enjoy an exceptional evening of food, music, and socializing along the banks of the Mississippi River. The 22nd Annual American Red Cross Picnic on the River will be on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Schwiebert Riverfront Park in downtown Rock Island.
Picnic on the River includes a dazzling array of hors d’oeuvres from area chefs, adult beverages and an acoustic performance by Quad City native Tim Stop. Picnic guests will enjoy the excitement of bidding on unique items at one of the area’s largest live and silent auctions. Guests may also choose to participate in the wine pull, featuring an eclectic selection of wines donated by Red Cross board members and supporters.
The evening will include Fund-a-Cause to benefit Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces in support of our military members and veterans and their families. Last year’s Fund-a-Cause auction raised more than $30,000 to support the American Red Cross Home Fire Campaign.
The 2017 Picnic on the River will be a special celebration as the American Red Cross marks their 100th anniversary of serving the Quad Cities and surrounding area. To commemorate the occasion, the Red Cross has collaborated with Isabel Bloom for a special centennial sculpture, “Grateful Hearts,” which will be available at Picnic on the River. The sculpture sells for $18 and proceeds benefit the Red Cross.
This year, as part of the Centennial celebration—guests have the option to upgrade their tickets to help support the Red Cross and enjoy a special guest experience.
Centennial VIPs will receive a complimentary Isabel Bloom “Grateful Heart” Red Cross Centennial sculpture, recognition in the event program, two drink tickets, chocolates from Lagomarcino’s, and VIP check-out.
Those purchasing reserved tables also have the option of the Centennial VIP upgrade. Each of the 8 guests will receive an Isabel Bloom “Grateful Heart” Red Cross Centennial sculpture, recognition in the program and at the event, two drink tickets, chocolates from Lagomarcino’s, and VIP check-out.
