Peyton Parker
Certificate of Extraordinary Personal Action
Presented March 2, 2022
On January 9, 2022, 8-year-old Peyton helped to save the life of her dad who began choking at home in Bradenton. He realized he couldn’t get the food to clear by taking a drink, so he ran in the kitchen to alert his 6-year-old son. His son noticed that he was hitting his chest then ran into the bedroom to get his sister. Peyton sprang into action and started performing abdominal thrusts. After 2 abdominal thrusts the food dislodged and her dad was able to clear his airway. If it wasn’t for Peyton remaining calm and remembering what her mother, a paramedic, taught her just weeks prior, it would have had a very different outcome.
Daniel Andruss

Presented October 28, 2021
On February 16, 2021, Daniel answered a 9-1-1 line regarding the potential drowning of a 2-year-old who fell into the family pool and was found unresponsive. He continued these instructions until fire rescue arrived at the scene and was able to assume patient care. The child was airlifted to St. Joseph's hospital for recovery.
