TAMPA, Fla. – MARCH 23, 2022 – Tonight at dusk, Tampa and Orlando will join other cities across the nation in observing Red Cross Month by lighting iconic landmarks RED to honor the organization’s humanitarian mission and its volunteer heroes with this annual tradition. These everyday heroes remind us of the power of the human spirit to shine in times of darkness, just as the lights in our major cities will shine brightly tonight.
In Central Florida, we are pleased to recognize the following municipalities and private entities that have committed to participation in this one-night activity on Red Cross Giving Day, March 23:

Red Cross Giving Day is part of Red Cross Month — a national tradition started nearly 80 years ago when President Franklin D. Roosevelt issued the first national Red Cross Month proclamation in 1943 to recognize those giving back through the Red Cross.
