Central Florida Red Cross volunteer Terry Smith visits with Justin and Jonah Russell while on his mobile feeding route in Rolling Fork. As many as 2,000 structures across Mississippi received major damage or were destroyed by tornadoes.
The American Red Cross is providing comfort and support to people across multiple states after deadly tornadoes and severe storms have uprooted lives and devastated entire communities in the last two weeks.
Red Cross disaster teams are on the ground in highly impacted areas across the South and Midwest, working with our partners and officials to deliver emergency relief. Trained Red Cross volunteers are also helping families cope during this challenging time and replacing prescription medications, eyeglasses or critical medical equipment like canes and wheelchairs.
Nearly 30 volunteers from Central Florida have answered the call to support sheltering, feeding, distribution of emergency supplies, disaster assessment, information technology and mental health.
