The American Red Cross of Central Florida has welcomed new leadership to the region, including two executives and more than a dozen volunteer board members. The Central Florida region serves 19 counties through five chapters: Florida’s Space Coast (Daytona Beach), Greater Orlando, Mid-Florida (Winter Haven), Southwest Florida (Sarasota) and Tampa Bay.
RED CROSS REGIONAL LEADERSHIP
Jennifer Pipa has been named Regional Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross of Central Florida, based in Tampa. In this role, she leads a team of staff and volunteers across five chapters.
Pipa has been with the Red Cross since 2004, serving in variously roles at the national and local levels. Most recently, she served as Senior Director of Recovery Operations for the organization’s national headquarters in Washington, D.C. There she was responsible for providing dedicated leadership to effectively execute and deliver recovery services across the U.S., focused on large or complex events. She began her career with the Red Cross as a disaster action team volunteer in North Carolina. She lives in Tampa with her husband Brian and daughter Madison.
Rebecca DeLorenzo joined the Red Cross as Executive Director of Florida's Space Coast Chapter, serving Volusia, Flagler and Brevard Counties. Most recently, DeLorenzo served as President and CEO of the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce from 2013-2017. She is a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and lives in Palm Coast with her husband, Jason and daughter, Lorelei.
BOARD MEMBERS AND OFFICERS
Each of the Central Florida region’s five chapters held an annual meeting in June or July, during which new board members and officers were installed. Board members serve three year terms, up to nine years, and must reside in one of the counties the chapter serves. The newly installed members are listed by chapter.
Florida’s Space Coast Chapter (serving Volusia, Flagler and Brevard Counties)
Edwin Loftin, Chair, is Vice President of Acute Care and Chief Nursing Officer at Parrish Medical Center. He resides in Titusville with his wife.
Rick Fraser, Vice Chair, is a retired business leader, most recently serving as Executive Director of the Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce and formerly as President of the Center for Business Excellence.
Cathy Lopez, Secretary, is Human Resources Manager at Kennedy Space Center where she is also the United Way campaign coordinator for the annual Day of Caring. Cathy lives in Space Coast with her husband and son.
Faith Bryant is a Career Specialist with CareerSource Flagler and Volusia. She has been a resident of Volusia County for 13 years.
Geoffrey Fraser is an owner of Clear Choice HealthCare, LLC. is company is based on a culture of giving and is a member of the Central Florida Humanitarian Alumni.
G.G. Galloway is an owner and partner of Coldwell Banker Commercial Benchmark in Ormond Beach. He is actively involved in the community.
Eric Geiger CRPC® is a Vice President and Premier Banker for SunTrust. He lives in Flagler county with his wife and two sons.
Lysee Kierstein is the owner of All-Promotions, Inc. She believes in giving back to the community and has previously served on the board of directors of the American Red Cross in Greater New York.
Alex Middleton is Director of Sales and Special Events at Cici & Hyatt Brown Museum of Arts & Sciences in Daytona Beach. Originally from Volusia county, Middleton lives with her husband, Jon and dog, Corbin.
Laura Perkins is Director of Organizational Integrity at The Florida Endowment Foundation for Florida Graduates. As a local and international volunteer and humanitarian, Perkins is passionate about the Red Cross and its mission.
Todd Pokrywa is Senior Vice President of Land & Development for the Viera Company. where he has been actively involved in the community and the real estate development industry on the local, state, and national levels.
Greater Orlando Chapter (serving Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties)
Renee Holderbach is Senior Vice President of Finance with the Specialty Group at Darden. She is a graduate of the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business.
Humberto Hormaza is Senior Vice President of Integrated Marketing Solutions as Entravision Communications. He is a 14-year media executive managing three stations in the Orlando area.
Vertrilla “Kathy” Hunt is President of the City of Oviedo Citizens in Action community organization and is retired after 20 years with Valencia Community College.
Christine Watkins is Vice President of the South Seminole Community Association for Progress in Altamonte Springs and is retired after 37 years in education with Seminole County Public Schools.
Mid-Florida Chapter (serving Polk, Pasco, Lake, Sumter, Hernando and Citrus Counties)
Carol Koppel-Olson is Vice President for Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer for BayCare Health in Polk County. She and her husband Jeff are residents of Winter Haven.
Southwest Florida Chapter (serving Sarasota, Manatee, Hardee, De Soto and Charlotte Counties)
Cindy-Ann (C.A.) Hersom has 20 years of international marketing and communications experience as a business owner and corporate leader, currently operating a consultancy firm called Ubuntu Effect. She lives in Sarasota with her husband Mike and son Andre.
C. Garrett Moore is a registered financial consultant with his own company, Moore Financial Management, Inc., where he enjoys helping socially conscious and philanthropic families plan out their financial lives. He lives in Bradenton with his wife Trish and son Gavin.
Tampa Bay Chapter (serving Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties)
Lorraine Dutkowsky, newly elected Chair, has served as Vice Chair of the Tampa Bay Chapter Board of Directors for the past two years and has been a board member since 2012. She is also a member of the Red Cross Tiffany Circle and a Red Cross Angel.
