ORLANDO, FLORIDA – APRIL 19, 2019 – Today the American Red Cross recognized its top aquatics providers from Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands at a special event in Orlando.
The event highlighted 2018 achievements of providers offering Red Cross swim lessons, lifeguarding, CPR/AED/first aid training, and more, in a variety of categories. Providers who were recognized included municipalities, waterparks, universities and private businesses.
“The American Red Cross is incredibly grateful for the hard work and achievement of our aquatics providers who offer training courses,” said Patrick Beason, Territory Aquatics Executive for Florida, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands. “The work they do saves lives by reaching communities each day with water safety education and emergency preparedness.”
In recognizing their achievements, the Red Cross hopes to shine a spotlight on water safety heroes in our communities. “We share a common goal and mission to prevent tragedies and to make our communities as safe and prepared for emergencies as possible,” added Beason.
