Javier Valdez began his career in the technology sector, holding leadership positions at globally recognized corporations such as Motorola, Cisco Systems, and Oracle. Over the course of more than two decades, he led enterprise operations, spearheaded digital transformation initiatives, and advanced customer success strategies. His work included managing international teams and partnering with Fortune 500 clients to drive impactful business outcomes.
Motivated by a deep commitment to service, Javier transitioned into the nonprofit sector, where he most recently served as Executive Director of the HealthStart Foundation—an early childhood health education nonprofit—and NAMI Central Texas, a leading mental health advocacy organization. In both roles, he strengthened organizational infrastructure, increased revenue, and expanded access to services for underserved communities across Texas.
Javier is also deeply engaged in civic leadership. He has served on the boards of numerous nonprofit organizations, including Breakthrough Central Texas, Con Mi Madre, Communities in Schools, and the Austin Community Foundation’s Hispanic Impact Fund. Across these roles, his leadership has emphasized equity, strategic growth, and elevating community voice.
