For more than 135 years, the American Red Cross has helped neighbors down the street, across the country and around the world by delivering the mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. The American Red Cross Central Appalachia Region Disaster VISTA project seeks to increase overall volunteer capacity across the region and build the volunteer teams and program effectiveness of the Disaster Action Teams Program while empowering them to build a strong network of community partners and resources to help better serve more people impacted by a disaster.
The American Red Cross VISTA program is seeking 8 AmeriCorps VISTA members to serve as Disaster Volunteer Coordinators in multiple locations, including Beckley, Charleston, Huntington, Morgantown (2), Parkersburg, and Wheeling, as well as Hagerstown, MD.
