Campus LEAD

Fast-Track to a Career in Making a Difference

Want to use your humanitarian spirit and leadership skills to make your daily work meaningful? Consider the American Red Cross Campus Leadership, Education and Development program (Campus LEAD)!

This two- to three-year rotational development program offers MBA and MPA degree candidates a paid, full-time employment opportunity with ongoing training to accelerate advancement to key leadership positions across the organization*.

*Availability of or employment in a specific role is not guaranteed upon completion of Campus LEAD program. Participants must complete application process for any available position.

Program participants complete up to three rotations, each 12 to 18 months long, within various Red Cross lines of service. Participants also partake in our formal leadership development program, including executive-level coaching and cohort development activities.

Campus LEAD participants will experience or gain insight into:

  • Leading large teams (more than 20 members), including exposure to managing the Red Cross volunteer workforce
  • Donor/customer sales or services
  • Key operations
  • Assignments at National Headquarters and in the field
  • Cross-business assignments and special projects
  • Campus LEAD applicants must be an MBA or MPA degree candidate. A focus on nonprofit management is a plus. In addition, the most successful applicants possess the following:

  • 3-5 years of work experience prior to returning to graduate school
  • Proven ability to navigate complex organizations
  • Experience leading teams or significant projects
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to accomplish multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a virtual management setting
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Willingness to relocate for rotational assignments across the country (relocation assistance provided)
