The American Red Cross in Connecticut and Rhode Island is pleased to announce we will be transitioning the in-person format for Mission: Possible 2020 to a digital, multi-day experience called Mission: Possible 2020: The Experience beginning on Thursday, March 26.
Mission: Possible 2020 was originally envisioned to be held as an in-person, interactive event for more than 500 people at the Connecticut Science Center. Due to the continued spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and on the advice of public health officials, the Red Cross is transitioning the event to a digital, multi-day experience that will allow all our supporters to participate from the comfort of their homes.
“While we are disappointed we are unable to celebrate the Red Cross Mission with 500 of our closest friends, sponsors, donors and volunteers, we are excited to be hosting this event in a new and innovative way,” said Mario Bruno, CEO, American Red Cross Connecticut and Rhode Island Region. “Not only is this new format a great way to engage our entire audience, it also provides an opportunity for supporters to gain additional insight into the mission of the Red Cross. Special thank you to all of our sponsors for helping to support Mission: Possible 2020: The Experience, in this new way!”
Mission: Possible 2020: The Experience will enable Red Cross supporters to engage with the Red Cross mission in a digital setting. Red Cross supporters will receive exciting announcements through a variety of platforms, over the event period which will begin on Thursday, March 26 and will run through Monday, March 30. The announcements will share information on the Red Cross mission, how we respond in times of uncertainty, how we help those in need, and share how you can make a difference in the lives of others. Supporters will have the opportunity to learn about our community impact award recipients, make online donations, bid in the silent auction, sign up to make an appointment to donate blood and learn how to become a Red Cross volunteer. To opt into Mission: Possible 2020: The Experience email CHCTRIINFO@redcross.org. Youncan also visit redcross.org/missionpossible to participate and get up-to-date information. All donations will go to support the vital mission of the Red Cross.
Mission: Possible 2020: The Experience is being co-chaired by Tom Vaccarelli, Vice President of Facilities, Construction and Real Estate at Hartford HealthCare and Marcia Keegan recently retired from ESPN. Both are members of the Connecticut Board of Directors.
