ConnectiCare, headquartered in Farmington, Connecticut is partnering with the American Red Cross in Connecticut through the Ready 365 Giving Program. Ready 365 is a way for organizations to partner with the Red Cross to support our humanitarian mission and stand with us as we provide lifesaving services to our community. As part of the partnership, ConnectiCare has joined the program as a Bronze level supporter.
“We’re grateful to ConnectiCare for their generous support of the Red Cross mission,” said Mario Bruno, CEO, American Red Cross Connecticut and Rhode Island Region. “ConnectiCare’s partnership is a key resource in helping the Red Cross collect much needed blood and platelet donations. We are excited to welcome them to this program.”
Through their support, ConnectiCare has helped the Red Cross mission by sponsoring blood drives and supporting the need for blood and platelet donations. Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood and nationally, the Red Cross must collect more than 13,000 donations of blood each day to meet hospital patient needs. By sponsoring blood drives, companies like ConnectiCare, not only help to collect lifesaving blood, but also raise awareness about the need for blood and platelet donations.
“Giving back is part of our corporate culture so partnering with the Red Cross in Connecticut is a natural fit with our mission to create healthier futures for the communities we serve”, said Eric Galvin, President of ConnectiCare.
Last year, the Red Cross in Connecticut collected more than 109,000 pints of blood at more than 3,800 blood drives to provide lifesaving blood components, plasma derivatives and transfusion services to hospitals and acute care facilities in Connecticut.
