Today, the Tampa Bay Chapter Board of Directors hosted its first meeting in the newly re-named Jill Valenti Board Room, dedicated in honor of Jill's 40 years of service as a leadership volunteer. For Jill, her commitment is an extension of her family legacy.
“Women in my family have been Red Cross volunteers since the days of Clara Barton,” Jill shared. “I am proud to carry on the tradition and have encouraged my children and grandchildren to do so as well.”
Early in her marriage, Jill’s husband Joe served in the U.S. Coast Guard. With frequent relocation, her secret to avoiding boredom or loneliness was to find something worthwhile in which to invest her time. For Jill, there was no question of which organization to choose.
Since 1981, Jill has worked with Red Cross chapters from coast-to-coast, most notably Los Angeles and Tampa Bay. For both, she is recognized as a Lifetime Board Member and Founding Chair of their Tiffany Circles of philanthropic women leaders.
Jill is also an active member of the National Philanthropic Board and the Tampa Red Cross Angels, a women’s fundraising guild.
We are so very grateful for Jill’s investment of time, talent and treasure!
