Disaster Action Team Volunteer
If you are interested in helping your neighbors after house fires and other local emergencies then this opportunity is for you. The Red Cross responds 24/7 so the time commitment is flexible and no experience is necessary. Volunteers must be over 18, have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
The American Red Cross responds daily to disasters locally and throughout the country. Sample disaster response activities include: Individual Client Services (casework, health services and emotional care), Mass Care (feeding and sheltering), Logistics, Public Affairs and Disaster Services Technology. Each Red Cross disaster response activity has its own training and experience requirements for assignment. These requirements will be discussed during your 1:1 interview.
Support your local Red Cross chapter’s day-to-day operations. Tasks can vary from greeting visitors and answering phones to data entry and other general office work to gathering and organizing supplies for trainings and events.
