The American Red Cross is hitting the road in Chenango County to provide the community with information on programs and services, as well as an opportunity to explore ways to support the Red Cross as a volunteer.
Volunteers and staff will park the familiar Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle in local communities. Visitors can tour the mobile unit, and find out what Red Cross volunteers do every day to prepare and respond to disasters, collect blood to save lives, or assist military service members at home or deployed.
Displays are scheduled for Friday, April 7 at Pine Ridge Grocery, located at 4086 State Highway 206 in Bainbridge, and then on Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22 at Walmart Supercenter, 5396 State Highway 12, in Norwich. All events will be held 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The Red Cross workforce is made up of 90 percent volunteers. In order to continue providing services, new volunteers are greatly needed.
