GREENVILLE, NC, March 7, 2022 — The American Red Cross of Eastern North Carolina is pleased to announce that Miltia Grady-Wheatley has been selected to serve as the new Executive Director of the Northeastern North Carolina Chapter.
As the new Northeastern North Carolina Chapter Executive Director, Grady-Wheatley will serve as the senior Red Cross staff member for communities of Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Edgecombe, Gates, Greene, Halifax, Hertford, Hyde, Martin, Nash, Northampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Pitt, Tyrrell, Washington and Wilson Counties.
“I am very excited to support the Red Cross mission and focus on services we provide to communities,” Grady-Wheatley said. “Alongside our volunteers, Board of Directors and community partners, I hope to inspire others to turn their compassion into action to deliver hope and comfort to those we serve. I hope to grow our partnership base and to strengthen the amount of diversity in our blood donor pool.”
Militia Grady-Wheatley, originally from Lenoir County, has over twenty years of working with non-profit organizations in North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. She describes herself as a team player with a heart for helping people in need. Grady-Wheatley is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Greensboro and holds a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University.
