The American Red Cross Serving Central Texas’ signature annual fundraiser and Gala will take place Friday, April 6th, 2018 at the Fairmont Austin. This year’s Gala will reflect on the response following Hurricane Harvey, honor the supporters who made that historic effort possible and raise funds for a next generation Emergency Response Vehicle for the chapter.
“The historic magnitude of Hurricane Harvey--and the unprecedented Red Cross response that followed—illustrated the importance of our lifesaving mission in today’s world,” said Marty McKellips, Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross, Central & South Texas Region. “We hope Central Texans will join us in supporting the future of disaster relief, because we need to work together to put our mission in motion.”
Each year at this signature event, the Red Cross honors individuals and companies that have been instrumental in implementing its mission in the Central Texas community. This year’s award recipients are:
“Lori and Tito Beveridge are known as the couple behind Austin’s most beloved liquor brand, but they are also incredibly generous, thoughtful and humble philanthropists,” McKellips said. “We are grateful for their support of the Red Cross during our most difficult year in recent history, and for their ongoing investment in bettering the community as a whole.”
The Gala is co-chaired by Lisa Huddleson, Matt Curtis and Tim Hayden. CBS Austin Chief Meteorologist Chikage Windler will Emcee the event.
