TAMPA, Fla. – MARCH 25, 2025 – On Wednesday, March 26, Tampa and Orlando will join other major cities across the country in observing Red Cross Month and Giving Day by lighting iconic downtown landmarks RED at dusk to honor the volunteers, donors and supporters who have made our humanitarian mission possible for more than 140 years.
Red Cross Giving Day is an opportunity for supporters to come together on one day to help people affected by future disasters big and small. Whether or not an emergency makes headlines, from hurricanes to home fires, our volunteers and supporters are community heroes to the families who urgently need Red Cross services when help can’t wait.
ILLUMINATING THE NIGHT Wednesday at dusk, the Cities of Tampa and Orlando, along with other downtown public and private entities have committed to participation in this one-night illumination activity. Our local landmarks are among others coast to coast to commemorate the celebration. Click HERE for images through the years.
HOW GIVING DAY DONATIONS HELP Giving Day donations provide aid such as emergency shelter, food, relief supplies, emotional support and financial assistance for people affected by disasters large and small. A gift of any size makes a difference to those confronting crises, seen and unseen. Donate at redcross.org or find other ways to get involved, including volunteering or learning lifesaving skills like CPR and first aid.
