We responded to a powerful January storm placing nearly all 50 states under weather alerts. This system, which brought heavy rain and strong winds, also spawned five tornadoes, devastating dozens of Florida Panhandle homes and businesses in their path.

Recovery can be a long and challenging journey. This family recently rebuilt their home after it was destroyed by a hurricane five years ago. Now, they face the heartbreaking task of rebuilding once again after tornadoes swept through in January.

Volunteers respond to a disaster every eight minutes—mostly home fires. Day or night, holidays or weekends, Amanda Hall is one of those volunteers. In her 15 years, she has provided comfort to over 1,000 local families in the aftermath of disasters.

Three tornadoes tore through Tallahassee, leaving behind a path of destruction not seen in nearly 30 years.
Red Crossers were on the ground immediately, offering safe shelter, mobile feeding, and delivering supplies to impacted neighborhoods.

We respond to a disaster every eight minutes and are always ready, 24/7. As the climate crisis intensifies and disasters grow more frequent and severe, we’re expanding our ability to support those in need.
