Did you know that nearly 10,000 Georgians living with Sickle Cell Disease – most of African American descent – have a critical, lifelong need for regular blood transfusions? They depend upon the American Red Cross to provide a lifeline that can only come from caring blood donors of a similar race and ethnicity.
Watch the below virtual event recording hosted by the American Red Cross of Georgia and the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia created to raise awareness for the unique needs of Sickle Cell Disease patients.
This event provided tools that you can use with your constituents to communicate the urgent, ongoing need for blood from diverse donors.
Together, we can support the health of our Georgia communities.
