American Red Cross disaster volunteers in two Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) will be distributing emergency supplies in hard-hit neighborhoods in Newnan (Coweta County) today to help residents in the aftermath of Thursday’s devastating tornado.
Residents beginning clean-up efforts may have need of Red Cross supplies such as work gloves, tarps, rakes, clean-up kits, and water/snacks.
Red Cross ERVs will begin in two locations in Newnan and circle outward from these center points, driving through neighborhoods and offering supplies to residents in need.
The two central locations are:
- Newnan High School, 190 Lagrange St., Newnan
- Shenandoah Forest Apartments, 8 Forest Circle, Newnan
Red Cross volunteers expect to begin distribution efforts at approximately 11:00 AM and continue through the afternoon.
Red Cross disaster volunteer ERV drivers are available for comment along their routes in the community.
(Note: The Red Cross is also feeding and sheltering residents displaced by the tornado in four hotels in Newnan.)
