Caseworkers are reaching out to displaced residents to further discuss their emergency needs, provide resources and referrals, and help them begin recovery plans. In Newnan, Red Cross Disaster Health Services, Mental Health, and Spiritual Care volunteers have joined other community representatives at the Coweta County Fairgrounds, where impacted residents have access to a variety of support and donated supplies. The Red Cross also has bulk items such as clean-up kits available there.
Red Cross damage assessment across 10 counties wrapped up yesterday and shows that more than 354 Georgia homes were destroyed or received major damage from the tornadoes and severe weather on March 25th. Volunteers have already provided more than 430 hotel night stays and hundreds of delivered meals for those in need of safe lodging. This remains a top priority.
