Atlanta, November 13, 2018 -- The American Red Cross of Metro Atlanta recently welcomed seven new members to its all-volunteer board of directors. The addition of these dedicated and talented community leaders brings current board membership to 26. Red Cross board members represent a cross section of corporate and community leaders and typically serve one to three-year terms, in an advisory capacity.
The Red Cross strives to alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. As the volunteer chair of Metro Atlanta’s Red Cross, Lucinda B. Smith, SVP, Global Business Services – AGCO, works in partnership with Executive Director Terri Badour to focus the board on mission-related objectives.
"For one hundred four years, the Red Cross has been working in Atlanta to shelter, feed and provide emotional support to victims of disasters, ensure a safe and adequate supply of blood and blood products, teach skills that save lives, provide international aid, and support military members and their families,” says Chair Lucinda Smith. “We’re thrilled to add these new leadership volunteers to our board and honored to continue the Red Cross mission in our community with their help.”
