Disaster Action Team: Be a part of a team that helps respond to provide 24-hour immediate support and assistance to individuals and families who have been impacted by a home fire or other local disaster.

Disaster Health Services (DHS) Team: Be a part of a team that helps safeguard the physical health of our clients. Day to day, DHS members support clients who have lost prescriptions or medical equipment due to disasters (like house fires) by helping them navigate the healthcare system to get them replaced. During disasters, DHS members may support shelters in ensuring health safety both for clients & workforce members.

Disaster Mental Health Team Member: Be a part of a team of mental health professionals that support recovery efforts when clients are struggling and unable to focus on their recovery plans. 

Disaster Response Volunteer: Supports the Red Cross mission and assists during large-scale disaster incidents. This volunteer takes training in over 30 distinct activities to join our Disaster Workforce and help our community respond and recover. National deployment opportunities are also available after training and local experience is acquired.

Blogger/Writers: Use words to tell the Red Cross story, whether it's a blog post, a news release or a social media post. Conduct research and perform interviews with volunteers and clients for use public messaging. Behind the scenes, serve as an editor or organize our stories, photos and other documents so they can be easily retrieved. 

Digital Volunteer: On the front lines of social media, use personal social accounts to monitor and engage with conversations about Red Cross. Identify trends, answer questions and be on the lookout for where Red Cross assistance is needed.  Note: This is a virtual position.

Media Relations Volunteer: Draft and fact-check press releases and prep to share with media outlets. Update media contact lists and editorial calendars for seven media markets in Louisiana. Monitor for media coverage and share with team.

Resiliency Facilitator: Utilizing your compassion and knowledge as a licensed mental health professional, provide skills to help military families cope with military life, especially deployments.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Instructor: Facilitate presentations to groups of interested individuals who are curious about humanitarian law and how the Red Cross works within it.

VA Voluntary Services (VAVS) Representative: This leadership position is responsible for supporting coordination between the Red Cross and VA Health Care Facilities in New Orleans, Shreveport and Alexandria.

Data & Salesforce Volunteer: You can be part of a team that supports fundraisers through accurate data tracking.

Stewardship Volunteer: You can help support Louisiana’s fundraising goals by personally thanking our donors.

Special Event Volunteer: Support the Red Cross mission by assisting with fundraisers, community celebrations, or other one-time/recurring major events for the American Red Cross.

Community Preparedness Program Team Member: Be part of a team that educates youth and adults on home fire safety, hurricane preparedness, and other emergency situations.
