At 16 years old, Hudson Mobley saved a man's life. He was able to act quickly to perform CPR and administer AED shocks thanks to the Red Cross lifesaving training he received as a certified lifeguard. He received the Certificate of Merit for his heroism.

When tornadoes hit Slidell, LA, the Red Cross joined forces with community partners to provide more than 14,000 meals to families. 100+ homes suffered major damage and 400+ Louisianans were served with recovery support, including financial assistance.

15 youth volunteers provided hands-on service at BJACH during the summer, where they rotated through various hospital departments during the five-week program. The young leaders supported the surgical ward, linen department, specialty clinic and more!

This hurricane season, our volunteers deployed to operations in Texas, Florida, Georgia and beyond to help neighbors in the wake of storms. When Hurricane Francine made impact as a Category 2 storm in Louisiana, 240+ volunteers responded to assist.

Red Cross teams jumped into action when Hurricane Beryl brought 20+ damaging tropical tornadoes into northwest Louisiana. In the early summer heat, volunteers supported cooling centers, served meals and set up a resource center for families in need.

Our CAP leaders help strengthen local non-profits in bayou communities that are hardest hit by disasters year after year. In the days following Hurricane Francine, our partners provided hot meals, mobile medical screenings and valuable recovery supplies.

In a shared mission to decrease the number of home fires, the nation’s most frequent disaster, Latter & Blum’s generous gift provided more than 6,400 free smoke alarms to be installed statewide throughout the year.

One week after receiving Red Cross disaster responder training, 8 volunteers from Jeanerette put on their red vests and drove up north to help after Hurricane Beryl. They assessed damaged homes in neighborhoods and rural areas to reach impacted families.

Student leaders at LSU organized a 'Sound the Alarm' event to help make their community safer from home fires. The LSU Red Cross Club volunteers successfully installed 185 free smoke alarms, making 119 homes and 290 people safer in the Baton Rouge area.

Service to the Armed Forces volunteers rolled up their sleeves and turned a pink barbershop at Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home into something much easier on the eyes. This transformation was a fun, hands-on way to say "thank you for your service."

The three-day volunteer bootcamp in Baton Rouge, LA recruited more than 50 new volunteers who were engaged with hands-on training in sheltering, feeding and more. Red Crossers collaborated with LSU students, churches and local media to promote the event.
