The nominee(s) is 18 years or older and has demonstrated extraordinary achievement in ensuring an adequate supply of lifesaving blood to those in need and/or serves as an advocate for blood donations in Massachusetts.

The nominee(s) is 18 years or older and has displayed a commitment to enhancing the resilience of their community against climate-related impacts. The nominee has created a program or service or took action to address the causes or impacts of the climate crisis in their community.

The nominee is 18 years or older and has exhibited heroic efforts in response to an emergency. The use of any type of emergency training (i.e., lifeguard training, CPR training, or first aid) is preferred but not required. 

The nominee(s) is a professional firefighter, reserve firefighter, volunteer firefighter, or medical personnel related to the dispatch operations of a fire department. The nominee could have been on or off-duty at the time of the incident. The situation does not have to be associated with the use of skills directly related to the profession.
The nominee either exhibited heroism in their response to an emergency or is involved in an ongoing commitment to the community through an act of kindness, courage, or unselfishness in response to an identified need.

The nominee(s) is a professional police officer or related law enforcement official. The nominee could have been on or off-duty at the time of the incident. The situation does not have to be associated with the use of skills directly related to the profession. The nominee either exhibited heroism in their response to an emergency or the nominee is involved in an ongoing commitment to the community through an act/s of kindness, courage, or unselfishness in response to an identified need. 

The nominee(s) is a U.S. service member (active, reserve or guard), veteran or military supporter. The eligible nominee(s) could have been on or off-duty at the time of the event. The situation does not have to be associated with the use of skills directly related to the profession.
The nominee either exhibited heroism in their response to an emergency or is involved in an ongoing commitment to the community through an act/s of kindness, courage, or unselfishness in response to an identified need.

The nominee(s) is a licensed and practicing nurse, nursing student or retired nurse. The nominee could have been on or off-duty at the time of the incident. The situation does not have to be associated with the use of skills directly related to the profession. The nominee either exhibited heroism in the response to an emergency or the nominee is involved in an ongoing commitment to the community through an act/s of kindness, courage, or unselfishness in response to an identified need.

The nominee(s) must be under 18 years old. Eligible nominee(s) must either:

• have performed an act of heroism involving an unusual, significant or unexpected incident requiring a courageous or unselfish reaction in a crisis or time of need, or
• be involved in an on-going commitment to the community through an act/s of kindness, courage, or unselfishness in response to an identified need.
