Harvard, MA resident chosen to lead Red Cross services across region
MEDFORD, Mass., December 3, 2018 — On behalf of the Board and Search Committee, John Stadtler, Chairman of the Board for the American Red Cross in Massachusetts, would like to announce the appointment of Holly Grant as Regional Chief Executive Officer for the Massachusetts Region.
“It is a privilege to have been selected to serve in this capacity, and I am excited to be joining a great team in Massachusetts,” Grant said. “The American Red Cross provides support to the most vulnerable populations, and I am looking forward to learning more about the Red Cross programs, as well as the blood collection operations throughout the region.”
A native of Cohasset, Mass., and currently living in Harvard, Mass., Grant has served in different leadership positions at the American Cancer Society since 2002, most recently leading the Eastern New England region as their Executive Director.
“Holly’s nonprofit experience, gravitas and leadership skills will help the American Red Cross continue our mission of helping our neighbors in need,” said Stadtler. “I look forward to working with Holly, the staff and volunteers in the region to support the communities across the Commonwealth.”
As Regional Chief Executive Officer for the American Red Cross in Massachusetts, Holly Grant will oversee Red Cross services. In the 12 month period between July 1, 2017 - June 30, 2018, those services included: providing immediate emergency assistance including temporary housing, food and clothing, comfort and support to 1,714 families following 683 fires and other disasters; making 3,262 households safer through the installation of 7,113 free smoke alarms as part of the Home Fire Campaign; teaching 23,130 people life-saving Health & Safety skills such as CPR and First Aid; providing 1,379 case services to support members of the military, veterans, and their families; and helping collect 203,346 lifesaving blood donations from volunteer donors.
