“The Puerto Rican community in New Jersey has stepped up tremendously to contribute their support for disaster relief and recovery efforts in Puerto Rico,” said Delgado. “We’re proud to bring that support to the American Red Cross. They have the boots on the ground and the logistic framework in Puerto Rico to bring the services needed following disasters.”
NJ4PR held fundraising events to support American Red Cross relief, recovery and preparedness efforts on the island following disasters like Hurricane Maria and the earthquakes earlier this year. Including this $10,000 donation, NJ4PR has contributed more than $40,000 to the American Red Cross to deliver disaster relief, recovery and preparedness education in Puerto Rico.
“We appreciate NJ4PR’s continued support of Red Cross relief efforts following the earthquakes in Puerto Rico,” said Taravella. “NJ4PR has been helping bring the people of New Jersey’s compassion to the people of Puerto Rico supporting Red Cross disaster relief since Hurricane Maria devastated the island.”
