WILMINGTON, N.C., July 15, 2025 – The American Red Cross of North Carolina is excited to announce a new executive director for the Cape Fear Chapter. Earlier this month, Darren G. Allison began his role serving the Cape Fear area.
“I am incredibly grateful, as this is a tremendous opportunity to serve the Cape Fear region, my community and my neighbors,” Allison said. “I am deeply honored to serve alongside a team of dedicated volunteers and professionals in the execution of the American Red Cross mission and the delivery of timely mission services to all Cape Fear region communities and residents.”
Allison is an experienced leader who focuses on people and effective outcomes. He brings more than 25 years of organizational leadership and humanitarian experience. He served the greater Wilmington community as a volunteer with the Cape Fear Guardian ad Litem Association, and through his work with the Cape Fear Community College and the Boys & Girls Club.
Allison began his career in the U.S. Marine Corps and is a former helicopter pilot and combat veteran. He flew humanitarian assistance and disaster response missions during the Hurricane Katrina recovery and was logistics air crew in response to Hurricane Floyd. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Aviation Flight School program.
