WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Oct. 27, 2025) — The American Red Cross of North Carolina is proud to welcome Sara Morales as the new Executive Director of the Piedmont Triad Chapter.
A native of Winston-Salem, Morales holds more than a decade of nonprofit leadership experience and a deep commitment to service. Her career spans social services, arts and education, and healthcare—each chapter shaped by a passion for building stronger, more resilient communities.
Most recently, Morales led corporate relations strategy for the philanthropy office at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where she cultivated partnerships to advance community health initiatives. Her leadership style—grounded in compassion, collaboration, and authentic relationship-building—aligns seamlessly with the Red Cross mission to alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies.
“Sara’s leadership, compassion, and strategic vision make her an outstanding choice to guide our chapter forward,” said Allison Taylor, Regional Executive, American Red Cross North Carolina Region. “Her dedication to building authentic relationships and fostering resilience aligns perfectly with our mission.”
Morales shared her excitement about the new role:

Sara Morales holds a Master of Public Administration from UNC Greensboro and has volunteered with both the American Red Cross and the Junior League of Winston-Salem.
As she steps into this new chapter, Morales brings not only professional expertise but also a personal passion for service. She looks forward to leading with care and purpose, and to deepening the Red Cross’s connection with the communities of the Piedmont Triad.
