Our volunteers, programs and services reach thousands of people with disaster preparedness materials and other lifesaving information. We also welcome invitations to serve Spanish-speaking communities.
To effectively staff and support American Red Cross preparedness and outreach efforts, requests received with less than 30 days’ notice may not be fulfilled. We appreciate your understanding in ensuring that we plan for the best staffing and service for your request. All fees for participation must be waived.

Guest Speaker As a community organization, the Red Cross is available to meet your organization or group to provide an overview of the work of the Red Cross and provide opportunities for your group can volunteer with us.
Overview of the Red Cross Presentations can be catered to the needs of the request and can be from 10 minute to one hour. Topics include, but are not limited to: “General Overview of the Red Cross,” “Volunteering,” “Blood Donations,” “Disaster Cycle Services,” “Service to the Armed Forces,” and “International Services." Emergency Preparedness Education Trained Red Cross experts present basic preparedness information. Be Red Cross Ready Presentations are approximately 45 minutes to one hour. Virtual Options Available
Emergency Preparedness Education for Grades K-12 The American Red Cross works closely with schools and youth-serving organizations to raise awareness of disaster risk and build resiliency among young people. Our age-appropriate preparedness materials include engaging activities and easy action steps that your students will find both fun and effective. Hands Only CPR Many people who survive a cardiac emergency are helped by a bystander. In this short video, you can learn how to perform Hands-Only CPR – so that you can help deliver life-saving care until professional responders arrive.
International Humanitarian Law The American Red Cross offers a variety of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) webinars for free, including Even War has Rules, Humanity In War, Born on the Battlefield and more. In addition, American Red Cross’s IHL Youth Action Campaign empowers young people, ages 13-24, to learn about International Humanitarian Law (IHL)—the body of law that governs armed conflict. Young people volunteer to educate the American public on IHL by exploring topics with their communities through peer-to-peer education campaigns. Virtual Options Available
Restoring Family Links As the world’s largest humanitarian network, Red Cross and Red Crescent teams help reconnect families separated by international crises. Red Cross offers Restoring Family Links information sessions provide an overview of free and confidential services to help families reconnect.
Ready Rating Red Cross experts present information on our free membership program is designed to help your business, organization, or school access to an online assessment that's easy to use and measures their current readiness level. And based on their score, receive immediate customized feedback from the American Red Cross emergency preparedness experts. Then members receive the tools and resources needed to take the important preparedness steps. Virtual Options Available
General Information Booth Trained Red Cross Volunteers provide preparedness and safety literature and education on Red Cross programs, services and volunteering. Events typically include booths at community fairs. Table and chairs must be provided by the event host. A minimum of 100 event attendees required. All in-person requests are subject to state and local COVID-19 guidelines. Virtual options welcome.

Reconnection Workshops Whether you or a family member have recently entered the military or you are a long-time veteran, navigating the many transitions connected with military and veteran service can be hard. Reconnection Workshops aim to ease the stress that comes with these changes. This free, confidential Red Cross program offers effective ways to work through challenges, improve wellbeing and build skills through small-group discussion and hands-on activities. Workshops help improve connections at home, at work and within communities. We invite active duty service members, members of the Reserves and National Guard, veterans and military families to participate. Virtual Options Available
