HAGATNA, AUGUST 22, 2025 — With immense gratitude and admiration, the American Red Cross announces the retirement of Chita Blaise, Executive Director of the Guam Chapter, effective November 30, 2025, after 27 years of dedicated service.

Chita Blaise has been a steadfast leader and compassionate force for the Guam Red Cross Chapter. Her unwavering commitment to the humanitarian mission of the American Red Cross has impacted thousands of lives — from disaster response and preparedness to supporting military families and fostering resilient communities.

“Chita has led with heart and grace for nearly three decades,” said Molly Schmidt, Regional CEO of the American Red Cross Pacific Islands Region. “Her legacy is deeply woven into the fabric of Guam’s Red Cross chapter — in the volunteers she’s mentored, the strong board she’s nurtured, the families she’s supported, and the partnerships she’s built. It has been an honor to work alongside her and witness the profound impact of her leadership,” says Marcos Fong, Red Cross Guam Chapter Board Chair.

Under Chita’s guidance, the Guam Chapter has grown into a beacon of hope and strength, consistently delivering critical services and support to those in need. Her retirement marks the closure of an extraordinary chapter, but her influence will continue to inspire the work of the Red Cross throughout Guam and across the region.

A comprehensive search for the next Executive Director will start soon, with the date yet to be announced.
