HAGÅTÑA, GUAM JULY 1, 2026 — The American Red Cross urges communities on Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) to begin preparing for a potential typhoon now. While the storm’s path is uncertain, it is currently gaining strength and nearing the islands. The American Red Cross is monitoring the tropical depression and deploying disaster teams to the region ahead of any landfall.
The current most likely track for the storm is between Guam and Pagan. Residents should expect the potential for 6–12" of rain, strong winds, and significant impacts. There are no current watches or warnings in effect for Guam. The American Red Cross and local officials are advising the public to begin preparing now and not wait for a watch or warning.

What you can do:
CONTINUED RECOVERY
The islands continue to recover from Super Typhoon Sinlaku in April. Saipan and Tinian were significantly impacted by Sinlaku and are at risk again. There are still areas without power, people are still trying to get their homes repaired, some are still not able to return to work and communications remain difficult. The Red Cross continues to work closely with community partners to help support impacted residents as they recover after Sinlaku and prepare for the potential incoming storm.
RED CROSS RESPONSE
The local Red Cross Guam and CNMI chapters are coordinating with local officials and community partners to prepare for the storm. Red Cross volunteers are on standby to assist the community as needed and American Red Cross disaster teams are currently enroute to the islands ahead of potential landfall.
If you would like to support your community, please register as a volunteer with your local chapter.
