During the 21st Annual Berks County Heroes Breakfast, the American Red Cross Pennsylvania Rivers Chapter will honor individuals who have demonstrated heroism through extraordinary acts of courage, kindness, dedication and service to the community.
Proceeds from the breakfast will benefit the programs and services of the American Red Cross Pennsylvania Rivers Chapter. There are heroes among us making a difference each day. We need your help to recognize them!

Karin Mallett will join us again as the host of the 21st Annual Berks County Heroes Breakfast. Karin will walk Berks County Hero guests through the lifesaving mission of the American Red Cross and share the stories of our local heroes.
Karin has been with WFMZ 69 News since 2003 as a general assignment reporter and serves on the Heroes Committee for the Berks County Heroes Breakfast. You can read more about Karin here.
Nominations have closed for our 2025 event. To be considered for our 2026 event, all hero nominations must be received by Nov. 7, 2025. The heroic actions/service should have occurred between Jan. 1 – Nov. 7, 2025 (with the exception of the Military Hero Category). However, a hero can be recognized for their actions over multiple years, before and including 2025. The nominee must either be from or currently residing in Berks County, but their heroic action(s) could have taken place anywhere. There may be more than one award recipient in a single category and not all categories may be represented.
