Celebrate the Heroes Among Us
The American Red Cross Southwestern Pennsylvania Chapter invites you to our signature event, Power of Red: A Celebration of Heroes. This inspiring event honors community members who exemplify the values of the humanitarian mission of the Red Cross. Power of Red also raises critical funds for the programs and services of the American Red Cross Southwestern Pennsylvania Chapter.
Join us for breakfast and networking from 7 to 8 a.m., followed by a ceremony at 8 a.m. when we will honor local individuals for their inspiring acts of courage and kindness.
The American Red Cross Southwestern Pennsylvania Chapter is now accepting Power of Red hero nominations for its 2026 event. All hero nominations must be received by March 1, 2026 to be considered. The heroic actions/service should have occurred between Jan. 1, 2025 and March 1, 2026 (with the exception of the Military Hero category). However, a hero can be recognized for their actions over multiple years. The nominee must either be from or currently residing in western Pennsylvania, but their heroic action(s) could have taken place anywhere.
