(ALLENTOWN) – The American Red Cross is continuing to support communities throughout multiple counties following the severe weather and flooding brought to the area by Tropical Storm Isaias. Since Tuesday evening, nearly 60 clean up kits have been distributed and more than 50 individuals in the impacted areas have received support from the Red Cross through sheltering, feeding, and providing for unmet needs. Red Cross teams are providing disaster support throughout Lehigh, Northampton, Berks, Carbon, Monroe, and Pike Counties in collaboration with local emergency management officials to provide immediate support for displaced families, provide disaster assessments, identify local community need, and support communities through recovery.
As part of these efforts, clean up kits will be distributed at the following locations:
o Northampton County - Sunday, August 9th, 1pm – 4pm in partnership with Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company: 155 Firehouse Lane, Nazareth, PA 18064
o Berks County - Sunday, August 9th, 1pm – 4pm in partnership with Muhlenberg Township Emergency Management: 4963 Kutztown Road, Temple, PA 19560 Anyone impacted by Tropical Storm Isaias and in need of Red Cross assistance should call 1-800-422-7677.
