Wilkes-Barre, September 1, 2021— The American Red Cross Greater Pennsylvania Region is supporting Wilkes-Barre residents evacuated due to flash flooding.
A shelter has been established at GAR Memorial High School Gymnasium, 250 S. Grant Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
Impacted residents should follow local guidance and evacuate when ordered to do so.
Tropical Depression Ida’s arrival in Pennsylvania continues to bring significant rainfall and numerous instances of flash flooding along with severe weather watches and warnings. The Red Cross is working with state and local officials to monitor conditions and respond to any flood or storm related disasters that occur.
