Our Greater San Antonio Chapter team came together last week to celebrate Larry Roser, a remarkable Red Cross volunteer who has dedicated 28 years of service to supporting our mission. Our team honored Larry by presenting him with a certificate thanking him for his decades of commitment and service to the Red Cross.
Larry first learned about the Red Cross while working with the Lighthouse for the Blind—now known as Vibrant Works—a nonprofit organization that empowers people with vision loss through employment, vocational training, and independent living programs.
“They told me about an opportunity where I could help people, and I’ve been coming here for over 20 years. I really like it,” Larry shared.
Since joining the Red Cross, Larry has supported communities through numerous disasters, including responding in the aftermath of 9/11. In his role as an Information and Referral Specialist, Larry helps individuals connect with resources and services beyond what the Red Cross directly provides, making sure they get the support they need.
Larry encourages anyone considering volunteering to take that first step.
“Anybody can do it, including a person like me,” he says.
He also believes that living a life filled with happiness and helping others is the best way to inspire those around him.
Thank you, Larry, for your inspiring story, your compassion, and your decades of dedication to helping others. ❤️
