Originally from Jackson, Mississippi, William Walsh first connected with the Red Cross in 2017 and officially joined #CSTR as a volunteer in 2025. As a Communications and Public Affairs Volunteer, William brings his marketing and communications expertise to life by sharing stories that inspire action, promote safety, and encourage blood donations. His skills have brightened communications in the Central & South Texas Region and the Alaska Region. He explains, “I enjoy storytelling and helping people understand the impact of the Red Cross and why it matters.”
William’s favorite Red Cross memory was joining a volunteer team in Alaska in 2018, where he installed smoke alarms. It was his first hands-on experience helping families stay safe.
William encourages others to get involved, especially those in the middle of their careers. “There are so many flexible roles. It’s easy to get started and it’s a great opportunity for middle-aged folks. The impact you can make is significant.”
Most recently, William joined our Central Texas Chapter in March at the Walnut Creek Sound the Alarm event, helping install smoke alarms to keep families safe.
Thank you, William, for your commitment to service and for helping amplify the Red Cross mission through your voice and passion.
