ESTATE GOLDEN GROVE, ST. CROIX (MAY 17, 2023) -- On May 21, the American Red Cross of the U.S. Virgin Islands and Tidal Basin Caribe, will host the 2023 All-Hazards Preparedness Expo at the University of the Virgin Islands Albert Sheen Campus. The event, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., will be free and open to the public.

“After five years, we are so excited to be back,” said Deseree Rodriguez, Business Development Coordinator for Tidal Basin Caribe, leading emergency management and disaster recovery consulting firm in the region. “We hope many people come out because being prepared for disasters can reduce fear, anxiety, and property losses.”

“Across the U.S. and its Territories, the Red Cross works closely with community partners as well as emergency management agencies to prepare our communities for disasters in advance,” said Tina Beazer, Executive Director, American Red Cross of the U.S. Virgin Islands. “We are a very resilient island community when we work together to help our neighbors prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters big and small.”

The Expo will feature speakers from FEMA, VITEMA, Red Cross and Tidal Basin Caribe, a Red Cross first-aid session, and fun activities for the whole family. The University of the Virgin Islands Albert Sheen Campus is located at Estate Golden Grove, St. Croix.
