In recognition of Red Cross Month in March, the National Youth Council invites young volunteers to share their stories of service, impact, and what it means to be Bound by Red.
At the heart of this campaign is Humanity, a core Fundamental Principle of the Global Red Cross Network, which states:
“The Red Cross, born of a desire to bring assistance without discrimination to the wounded on the battlefield, endeavors—in its international and national capacity—to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found. Its purpose is to protect life and health and to ensure respect for the human being. It promotes mutual understanding, friendship, cooperation, and lasting peace amongst all peoples.”
Participants are invited to submit a written narrative that highlights a humanitarian action in their community and connects the experience to Red Cross values. Along with your narrative, you may include photos you took during the experience you are describing (optional).
Selected submissions will be highlighted during National Volunteer Month in April; as we celebrate the compassion and leadership of young people across the country.
As a thank you, stories chosen for publication will receive a special Red Cross gift.
