Jennifer Xiao Rang McCormick came to the United States in 1997 with only her suitcase. She was born in Tianjin in northern China, where, as a young primary school student, she remembers joining the school's student Red Cross club. She recalls her happiness of wearing a Red Cross badge on her left arm as she walked around the campus passing-out lunches to other students and helping to clean up the school. She says maybe it seems like a small contribution, but it made her feel part of a Red Cross mission early on.
After graduating from an International Business degree from Tianjin Hexi District University, she worked for Sealand Service, Inc. (Maersk Line) as a Sales Representative in the ocean shipping industry. In the United States, her success led her to become Vice President of Sales of the busy West Coast region for the Hong Kong firm Jardine Logistics, Inc. of which she worked until 2003 when she became Vice President of Sales for Dart Express, Inc.
In 2005, Jennifer made the decision to start her own freight logistics company, American Freight Logistics, Inc., where she is the CEO and owner. American Freight handles shipping of ocean and air cargo from all corners of the world.
Always looking to continue her commitment to philanthropy and to spread the Red Cross message, Jennifer has been a BMH Member Silver since 2018, and a member of the Tiffany Circle National Council since only recently in 2020. She is also a board member of the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region Board, and she is most passionate about the Red Cross's international Services. Jennifer says what she enjoys most about the Tiffany Circle is the unique chance to serve people around the world, and she also appreciates the many friendships she has developed with like-minded women who are passionate about the mission of the Red Cross.
Jennifer is a member of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art Asian Council, and she serves on the Board of Trustees for Otis School of Art and Design. In 2019, she was chosen to attend the Women Entrepreneurs Program through BNP Paribas at Stanford University
Jennifer enjoys charity work, painting, photography, playing her GuQin (an ancient Chinese zither), travelling, history, and spending time with her husband Mark and their son Robert.
