Volunteerism isn’t just an act; it’s a movement that unites communities and drives meaningful change. Join us in celebrating our Red Cross volunteer workforce this April and support their lifesaving work.
Each year, more than one million Americans work with the Red Cross as volunteers serving local community needs. Volunteers make up more than 90% of the Red Cross Michigan Region workforce, allowing us to serve our mission 24/7/365.
Every day, Red Cross volunteers – your neighbors – provide a broad array of vital services to people across the Michigan Region, including:
Helping those impacted by fires, floods, storms, and other disasters
Collection and transportation of lifesaving blood
Assisting with blood drive operation by checking in blood donors
Supporting military members, veterans, and their families
Equipping youth and young adults to support the Red Cross mission AND MORE!
As a volunteer blood donor ambassador, you'll ensure donors have a positive experience from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. Your professionalism and kindness during the blood drive will encourage ongoing donor support.
Disaster Action Team volunteers are ready to respond 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. From offering a shoulder to cry on, to meeting any immediate needs for shelter or supplies, to connecting people with long term recovery services, our volunteers ensure that families don’t have to face tough times alone.
During large disasters, you can use your professional skills as a licensed healthcare provider to deliver hands-on care and education to disaster-affected clients. The work setting is generally in emergency shelters or on outreach teams in the community.
