Kelly King became regional chief executive officer of the Michigan Region in 2025. She also serves as executive director of the Southeast Michigan Chapter.
Kelly joined the Red Cross in 2017 as executive director of the Mid-Michigan Chapter in Lansing and served in that role for five years. During that time, she also served as state relations representative and interim regional chief operating officer for the Michigan Region. From May 2022 to 2025, Kelly served as chief operating officer for the Southwest and Rocky Mountain Division of the Red Cross, providing strategic leadership, directing key real estate projects, and leading safety and security initiatives. Prior to that, she was interim regional chief executive officer for the Louisiana Region from Sept. 2021 to Jan. 2022.
Before joining the Red Cross, Kelly was the executive director at the Oak Park YMCA from 2014 to 2017 and Downtown YMCA Wellness from 2009 to 2014, both in Lansing.
Brian Chambers became regional chief operating officer in 2025. In this role, he leads a team that oversees business operations across the Michigan Region, which includes 34 humanitarian and biomedical sites and the Red Cross vehicle fleet.
Previously, Brian was fleet and facilities supervisor for the region, a position he held for 3 ½ years. Prior to that, he served as disaster program manager for the Red Cross Mid-Michigan Chapter in Lansing from 2018-2021. He joined the Red Cross in February 2016 as planning and recovery manager of the San Diego, California Region.
Before starting his Red Cross career, Brian was lead diver at Sea World in San Diego and once led a salvage and recovery project after the 2011 tsunami.
Brian is a graduate of Western Michigan University, and holds a master’s degree in homeland security from San Diego State University. In 2013, he completed a two-month summer study abroad at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom that focused on the British East India Company’s operations from 1757-1858.
Nada Charara became regional chief development officer in 2024. She previously served as regional director of development from 2021-2024.
In this role, Charara leads a team of seasoned professionals who secure funding resources for Red Cross service lines that help the people of Michigan and those in other parts of the country and internationally. She is also responsible for driving strong relationship building with donors and growing the donor base, and is the primary liaison to major corporations, foundations, and boards.
Prior to joining the Red Cross in 2021, Nada was associate director of development for the American University of Beirut, a private university chartered in New York with its campus and medical center based in Beirut, Lebanon, from 2014 to 2021.
Trilingual in English, Arabic and French, Nada earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Lebanese American University. She holds Red Cross certification training in adult and pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid, and was a founding board member of the Arab American Women’s Business Council.
Latoysa “Toy” Rooks, an American Red Cross seasoned disaster management professional, was named regional disaster officer for the Michigan Region. The position is part of the region’s leadership team.
In her role, Rooks directs the Region’s disaster preparedness, response and recovery services across six Red Cross chapters that collectively serve more than 9 million people across the state. She also manages a statewide team of volunteers and team members who are part of the Disaster Cycle Services service line.
Rooks joins the Michigan Region from the Georgia Region, where she served as senior disaster program manager from 2019 – 2024. She also served as interim regional disaster officer in the Alaska, Central Florida and Georgia regions. Prior to her role in disaster management, Rooks was operations director in the George Region from 2016 – 2019.
Rooks earned a master’s degree in Public Health at the University of Tennessee. She holds bachelor’s degrees in Community Health and Health and Human Performance, each from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
Natalie joined the Red Cross in 2002 and has served as regional volunteer services officer since 2015. She leads a team of volunteers and employees who recruit for all Red Cross service lines in Michigan. From supporting blood drives and responding to home fires to assisting military members and their families, volunteers are the heartbeat of the organization.
Natalie’s first introduction to the Red Cross came at an early age. When she was in elementary school she was assigned a school project to profile an inspirational person. Many of her classmates chose well-known influential leaders, and she almost did the same. Instead, she chose to learn about Clara Barton, the American nurse who founded the Red Cross in 1881.
Volunteer Services “is the nucleus of the organization,” Natalie asserts. “If you don’t have the volunteers, we wouldn’t exist.”
Natalie earned a bachelor’s degree in community development from Central Michigan University.
Becky Gaskin has served as executive director of the East Central Bay Chapter since June 2022. In this role, she oversees chapter operations and serves as the primary leader and community representative. Becky joined the Red Cross from the Genesee Intermediate School District where she served as Coordinator of its Great Start Collaborative. Prior to that, Becky was executive director of the Hagerman Foundation in Flint from 2015-2020 and directed a strategic philanthropic campaign.
Becky holds a master’s degree in Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Business and Corporate Communications, both from the University of Michigan-Flint.
Judi Harris has served as executive director of the Mid-Michigan Chapter since November 2022. In this role, she oversees chapter operations and serves as the primary leader and community representative. Earlier in her professional career, Judi was the Red Cross health program coordinator in Haiti from 2005-2007. Prior to that role, she was Red Cross health program coordinator in North Macedonia from 2001-2003 following the Kosovo conflict. Before joining the Red Cross, Judi was program director of refugee services for St. Vincent Catholic Charities in Lansing.
Judi holds a dual undergraduate degree in International Relations and French from San Francisco State University and a master’s degree in Health Education from Trinity College in Washington, D.C.
Michelle Gallagher joined the Northern Michigan Chapter as executive director in August 2022. In this role, she oversees chapter operations and serves as the primary leader and community representative. Before coming to the Red Cross, Michelle was philanthropy manager at the Hospice of Michigan. A graduate of the Leadership Cadillac Program, Michelle earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing and Advertising/Promotions from Davenport University.

Raul Galvan became executive director of the Southwest Michigan Chapter, which is based in Kalamazoo, in August 2025. In this role, he oversees chapter operations and serves as the primary leader and community representative.
Previously, Raul served as regional director of the Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) and International Services in Michigan from 2023-2025. Prior to that, he was regional preparedness and planning manager from 2019 to 2023. Raul joined the Red Cross in 2015 as disaster program manager of the Southwest Michigan Chapter.
In addition to his Red Cross career, Raul serves our country through military service. He currently serves as a civil affairs officer for the U.S. Army Reserve in the 308th Civil Affairs Brigade, headquartered in Homewood, Illinois. Prior to that position, he served as a civil affairs officer for the Kalamazoo-based 415th Civil Affairs Battalion from March 2010 to May 2021.
Raul earned his bachelor’s degree at Western Michigan University. During his military service he has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal with two Oak Clusters, and Combat Action Badge. He is also a certified CPR, First Aid and AED instructor.
Tony Gerheiser became executive director of the West Michigan Chapter in September 2023. In this role, he oversees chapter operations and serves as the primary leader and community representative. Tony joined the Red Cross in 2015 as a specialist in the Service to the Armed Forces program. He later became an account manager for biomedical services, directing more than a 100 business, collegiate, community and high school blood collection accounts across the chapter.
Before joining the Red Cross, Tony was a squad leader for the Michigan Army National Guard and served in Afghanistan, Germany and Poland. He earned a bachelor’s degree in public health from Central Michigan University.
