What We Do

When emergencies happen, the American Red Cross is there—helping people prepare, respond and recover when life takes an unexpected turn.

Across Alabama and Mississippi, our volunteers support families affected by home fires, severe storms, and other crises. They help military families stay connected, ensure hospitals have lifesaving blood, and provide training that empowers people to save lives.

With more than 6,500 trained volunteers serving communities across 149 counties, help is never far away. Whether responding close to home or supporting disasters nationwide, our teams bring compassion, experience, and hope when it matters most.
