JUNEAU, August 15, 2017 — The American Red Cross of Alaska will host its Southeast Disaster Institute from September 15 to 17, at Centennial Hall in Juneau, during the Ready or Not, Don’t Get Caught! Juneau Safety and Preparedness Expo.
This is a multi-day training conference designed to increase volunteer capacity for Red Cross disaster responders in Southeast Alaska. Attendees will come from a wide variety of backgrounds and locations, and will include current and potential Red Cross volunteers, employees and partners.
Course Offerings
Course audience and skill level will focus on volunteers new to Red Cross Disaster Services and cover introductory topics including:
Institute participants who complete the courses will be encouraged to join the Red Cross as shelter workers, caseworkers and general disaster volunteers.
