Blood Donor Ambassador

Volunteers serving as Blood Donor Ambassadors provide excellent and enthusiastic customer service to enhance the blood donor experience.
 

Requirements

Time Commitment: One 6-hour shift per month for 3 months. You may participate in more than one shift per month if you wish. Please note that we currently need volunteers with weekday availability, as weekend shifts are already staffed.
 

Other Requirements:

• Minimum 16 years of age
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to communicate effectively and provide customer service care

Missing Maps (MapSwipe)

Red Cross volunteers and staff in your own neighborhood and around the world rely on updated, detailed information to better support populations after an emergency. Putting in time and effort before emergencies helps prepare the Red Cross and other humanitarian organizations to plan programs and respond when needed.

Accurate maps play a critical role in understanding the disaster risks facing communities. MapSwipe is a free open-source mobile application available on iOS and Android that empowers anyone with a smartphone to make a meaningful impact contributing to global mapping efforts. This volunteer opportunity is open to any one from ages 13-24.

Red Cross Clubs

Red Cross Clubs are officially recognized organizations on school campuses led by middle school, high school, and college students. Club members serve their community through service, education, and leadership as volunteers of the American Red Cross. Red Cross Clubs participate in activities that align with the Red Cross’s humanitarian mission by holding regular service projects and leadership training throughout the school year to benefit members and their community.

All Red Cross clubs work with the support and guidance of their local Chapter and collaborate with other clubs to plan and execute service projects and fundraising events.
 

Club service projects follow the Red Cross’s five lines of service:

• Volunteer Services
• Disaster Services
• Services to the Armed Forces
• Biomedical Services
• Training Services

Youth Action Campaign

The IHL Youth Action Campaign (YAC) empowers young people, ages 13-24, to learn about international humanitarian law IHL). Young people volunteer to educate the American public on IHL by exploring topics with their communities through peer-to-peer education campaigns. Youth teams participate in an IHL training, during which they learn how to build their own educational campaigns and conduct in-person and social media activities to promote awareness around IHL.
