Over six Heat Walk events this season, volunteers fanned out across Southern Arizona to visit homes, share safety information, and connect residents with resources during the region's extreme heat season.

Across six walks, volunteers reached 911 homes throughout Southern Arizona. When residents were home, teams had direct conversations about heat safety and available resources. When no one answered, volunteers left behind safety information to ensure households still received key materials.

During walks, teams identified 32 homes without working smoke alarms. Those households will receive a free smoke alarm installation through Red Cross — connecting heat outreach with an additional layer of home safety support.
