Video: A region fueled by volunteers!
In 2023, 1,670 volunteers were engaged across our 26-county region in Disaster Services, Biomedical Services, Service to the Armed Forces and other support roles while logging 128,472 hours. Learn how you can become a volunteer by visiting www.redcross.org/volunteer.

During Red Cross Month, we highlighted women leaders and lit up Redding's Sundial Bridge in red! We hosted regional BASH events honoring donors and volunteers in Scotia, Chico and Sacramento. Miki Teixeira was honored with the Spirit of Tiffany Award.
Video: Latino Engagement focuses on region's diverse population
The Latino Engagement program launched in 2023 to ensure our services are available to the diverse communities. The launch included focused recruitment of volunteers who represent the Latinx community, the largest ethnic minority in the region.
So far this year, our biomed teams have collected 4,820 units of blood at 297 regional blood drives - including collection for our Sickle Cell Initiative. Schedule your next donation at www.redcrossblood.org.
Since January 1, 2023, our Service to the Armed Forces team has managed 371 emergency cases, 713 critical community cases and provided family follow-up services to 978 individuals.
Photo: Two lives saved thanks to smoke alarm installation
This year, the region recorded two lives saved thanks to the free smoke alarms installed in a home as part of the Home Fire Campaign. So far this year, volunteers have installed 517 smoke alarms and made 315 homes safer from the threat of home fires.
