The American Red Cross is proud to recognize Southeastern Grocers and Winn-Dixie as the recipient of the 2025 Florida Governor’s Hurricane Conference Distinguished Service Award for Partnership -- a tribute to their 100 years of service in Florida and a remarkable 80-year partnership with the Red Cross in disaster response, preparedness and recovery.

Throughout decades of hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires and floods, Winn-Dixie has proven time and again that they are more than a grocery store -- they are a steadfast partner in times of crisis. From keeping stores open during emergencies to delivering essential supplies directly to affected neighborhoods, their commitment to community shines when it’s needed most.

Their support has been seen in moments large and small -- whether it was offering shelter during historic flooding in South Florida, providing emergency supplies to families recovering from devastating tornadoes in Madeira Beach, or standing alongside Red Cross teams after a military plane crash in Jacksonville. In each case, Winn-Dixie associates and managers didn’t wait for instructions -- they simply showed up, ready to help.

Through the SEG Gives Foundation, Southeastern Grocers has also helped communities prepare for what’s next -- donating millions of dollars in funding, food, and emergency supplies. In total, their contributions have exceeded $15 million, strengthening the Red Cross’s ability to deliver comfort and hope when it matters most.
