Orlando, Fla. – October 27, 2025 – American Red Cross disaster workers have opened an emergency shelter in Brevard County in response to flooding in Titusville, Cocoa and surrounding areas.
The City of Titusville contacted the Red Cross recognizing that there was a need for a shelter to be opened for residents that have been forced out of their homes due to flooding. Residents have also called the Red Cross requesting shelter.
The emergency shelter location is:
First United Methodist Church of Titusville, 206 S. Hopkins Avenue
Red Cross emergency shelters offer safe refuge and access to essentials such as cots, blankets, meals and personal care/health items. Red Cross services are free and available to all.
“After last night’s storms and today’s continued rain, we are working closely with local government agencies and faith-based organizations to address the needs of residents in our community who were forced from their homes,” said Janice Moran, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Central Florida Coast Chapter. ”We are committed to helping Brevard County and providing services for the families impacted.”
The sudden flooding event in East Central Florida serves as a reminder of the importance of being prepared for disasters big and small.
